Key benefits

Less time rigging up. More time working the well.

  • 2–4 hrs

    Rig-up time

On location and turning to the right in hours, so your well is down for less time.

  • 4–5

    Person crew

A compact, experienced crew runs each rig. Fewer people on the pad, lower day rate.

  • Cost

    Effective by design

Newer equipment means less downtime, and quick moves mean you pay for work, not waiting.

  • Fewer

    Truckloads to move

Carrier-mounted rigs move in fewer loads, which cuts road miles and the carbon footprint of every job.

FAQ

Workover rig questions.

What is a workover rig?

A rig that services wells already drilled, instead of drilling new ones. It replaces damaged tubing or casing, cleans out wells and re-perforates zones to bring production back up.

What are the benefits of using one?

Workover rigs raise the productivity of wells you already own, and they are generally less expensive and easier to mobilize than drilling rigs. Ours rig up in 2 to 4 hours with a 4 to 5 person crew.

Are workover rigs safer than drilling rigs?

Both run safely with proper training and maintenance. Workover rigs can be safer in some cases, because the operations are less complex and carry less risk of blowouts.

Can workover rigs be used offshore?

Yes. They can maintain and repair offshore wells, though they may need specialized equipment or modifications for the marine environment. Our fleet works on land in Texas and Louisiana.

Which rig is right for my well?

The NOV 5C covers everyday servicing to 6,500 ft. The NOV 6C brings a 117′ mast and up to 300,000 lb hook load. The SK 675 reaches 18,000 ft service depth. Tell us the job and we’ll match the rig.
