Workover rig FAQ
What is a workover rig?
A truck-mounted rig that services wells already drilled. It pulls and runs tubing and rods, replaces damaged tubing or casing, cleans out wells and re-perforates zones to bring production back up.
Why use one instead of a drilling rig?
It costs less and moves faster. Our rigs rig up in 2 to 4 hours with a 4 to 5 person crew, and need fewer truckloads to move in.
Are workover rigs safe?
Both workover and drilling rigs run safely with proper training and maintenance. Workover jobs are usually less complex, with lower blowout risk, and every TCES crew works under our HSE program.
Which rig is right for my well?
The NOV 5C covers everyday servicing to 6,500 ft. The NOV 6C brings a 117′ mast and up to 300,000 lb hook load. The SK 675 reaches 18,000 ft service depth. Tell us the job and we’ll match the rig.
